Recoveries can provide information about the migration routes and longevity of birds. Included in the PDF files linked below are significant encounters with birds banded during CBBS projects or birds banded elsewhere and recaptured during CBBS projects.

The choice of which encounters to include in the compilatons of year-to-year recaptures is somewhat arbitrary. Species for which there are many recaptures over the years (e.g. Yellow Warbler, House Wren) are not generally included unless inferred age is >5 years. Other species that are recaptured more infrequently and for which longevity data is lacking may be included even if inferred age is <5 years.
